What is SQUISH Internet Services?
SQUISH Internet Services is what's called an
ISP, or Internet Service Provider. SQUISH provides individuals and businesses access to the many parts of the Internet via "dial-up" and dedicated-line Internet accounts. In short, if you've got a modem and a computer, a SQUISH Internet account is all you need to use what the Internet has to offer, including the World Wide Web and global E-mail. Even if you don't have the software or know-how to begin using your account, SQUISH can help. We'll help you get the software, and provide the friendly, courteous, professional help you need. We'll answer any questions you have, and even provide our exclusive House Call Setup service if you'd like. We're also happy to work with you to come up with a customized solution to fit your needs, so you don't pay for services you don't use.
We also offer several optional features and services (prices vary), including:
How much does Squish Internet Services charge?
Who does Squish Internet serve?
What areas does Squish Internet serve?
Does Squish Internet offer special promotions, discount rates, or referral bonuses?
If I already have an Internet or on-line account, why should I switch?
What forms of payment do you accept, how do you bill, and do you provide invoices?
Who is behind Squish Internet Services and what is the company's philosophy?
Our standard personal use account is $ 22 per month for full, unlimited access. In most cases a one-time set-up fee is also charged ($25) for each account. Prices for our optional services vary, and may be subject to free inclusion or discount when ordered with a new account. For example, additional e-mail boxes are $3/month each when ordered with a new account, otherwise they are $5/month each. We also offer numerous discounts and promotional rates (see the next item for more information). Call for more on small business accounts, co-location, dedicated line, ISDN, and other feature pricing.
The short answer is " Anyone!" The long answer is individuals and businesses who want a quality, reliable Internet connection, friendly customer service, and space on our hard drives for a Web site, e-mail, files, and more, all for a fair, competitive price. We also cater to people who might be confused or feel they've been left behind by the Internet and all its hype. Or the people who might be intimidated by the big, impersonal service providers who make you feel like you've got to be an expert to call and sign up for an account, or who make you feel like an idiot for asking for help. So if you're a computer or Internet novice, you don't have to feel uncomfortable about calling Squish Internet Services. And while many studies have shown 75-90% of Internet users are men, Squish Internet welcomes women as customers, whether you're a do-it-yourself computer expert or just finding your way on to the information super-highway. We can also help families with new computers, and we're always glad to serve people dissatisfied with their current service provider or on-line service; in fact, you may qualify for a discount for switching to Squish Internet!
SQUISH Internet offers local call access for areas in and around Mountain View, Palo Alto, Los Altos, Sunnyvale, San Jose, Santa Clara, San Carlos, Belmont, San Mateo, Redwood City, Fremont, Milpitas, Newark, and more. We will be adding service to other areas regularly. If you're a mobile user or have special long-distance needs, let us know.
The short answer is " Yes!" The long answer is: SQUISH Internet offers numerous discount and promotional rates. For example, our standard rate is $22 a month for full, unlimited access, but if you pay for six months, we'll waive the $25 set-up fee (or give you a month free if you're a current user). If you pay for a full year, we'll waive the set-up fee and give you a 5% discount off the yearly rate, for a savings of nearly $40. That's just one example. We also offer " Switching Discounts" when you switch from another provider or on-line service; " Referral Bonuses" when you sign up and refer friends who sign-up; we even offer discounted and free public service accounts, and other discounts. Be sure to ask when you sign-up.
First of all, switching is very easy to do: a couple of e-mail messages or a phone call is about all it takes; and there's no penalty or fee to leave one service and join another. In fact, there can be significant advantages to switching (such as our " Switching Discounts"). Not only is there an initial savings when you switch, but often you'll end up paying less each month. Our "Switching Discounts" apply to people with on-line ( AOL, Compuserve, etc.) or Internet Service Provider accounts ( Netcom, Best, Kudo.net, etc). If you don't like the big, impersonal services, if you're getting busy signals, broken connections, sluggish performance, or unresponsive customer service, you probably have very good reasons to consider switching before you even consider price. After all, how much of a deal is a $15 or $20 a month connection that you can't use?
Our primary concern when it comes to payment and billing is efficiency, which allows us to keep our costs low, and in turn, your rates low. To do that, we prefer payment by credit card. That allows us to bill your card automatically each month, making things easy on us and on you. We accept Visa and MasterCard, and remember, when you pay for six months or a year (or more) at once, you are eligible for special discounts. We will also accept checks if you pay for six months or more at once (and yes, you will still get the discount ). If you have special needs for payment, just ask; we're always willing to arrange something that works. Again, to keep costs down, we can provide monthly invoices by e-mail, if you require one.
Michael Gardiner is the founder of SQUISH Internet Services. Mike has been a long-time user of PC, Macintosh, and UNIX computers in both professional and personal environments, and he has based SQUISH Internet's philosophy on appreciating the average person's approach to computers. He's been frustrated by the same problems you have: hardware problems; buggy software; system crashes in the middle of important projects; modems that won't work no matter how they're hooked up; poorly-written, confusing instruction manuals; and unfriendly, condescending customer service and technical support representatives. In short, he knows what it's like to be a computer user on the verge of a nervous breakdown -- like you probably do, too. That's why SQUISH Internet is based on serving customers well, minimizing problems, and doing everything possible to quickly eliminate them if they do occur. SQUISH also strives to make its services fit customers' needs and to add the personal touch other providers don't.
